The Building Blocks Program offers tools and skills for families to achieve financial wellness.

ACDC's trained counselors can help you establish a plan to budget, save, manage debt, and build your credit score. Whether you are saving for your first home, education, or retirement, we are here to examine your current financial situation, talk with you about your goals and customize a plan to meet them.

First-time Homebuyer Workshops

For most people, buying a home is the largest purchase they will ever make. ACDC can assist you in purchasing your first home.

We are a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. We offer home buying services through group workshops and one-on-one counseling in English and Chinese.

Complete our workshop and receive a certificate to become eligible for discounted mortgage products, such as MassHousing and ONE mortgages. First-time homebuyer workshops are $50 per individual. Fees are non-refundable and due upon registration. For rescheduling, attendees must give at least 48 hours notice.

Matched Savings Programs

For qualified low-income families, ACDC provides a matched savings program to help families with extra funds for their home purchase or retirement accounts.

Individual Homebuying Counseling

1-on-1 counseling with our certified housing counselors are free. Our counselors are multilingual in English, Mandarin, and/or Cantonese, and can help you to assess your homebuyer readiness to create a customized home purchase plan.

Subscribe to our Housing Newsletter Membership, a monthly newsletter listing current affordable housing ownership and rental opportunities in Massachusetts. The annual membership fee is $25.

ACDC also provides workshops and counseling for homeowners. Past workshop topics have included:

  • Foreclosure prevention

  • Energy savings

Our services meet the criteria established by the Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative. ACDC's first-time homebuyer workshop is CHAPA certified.
